The Power of a Positive Wife (9/14)

This morning I started a new devotional... and so far I think I'm going to enjoy it. The scripture this morning was from Genesis 2; talking about how the woman is of the man's flesh and bone. She is called woman because she was taken out of man. It talks about how this is why man leaves his mother and father and unites with his wife into one unit. This passage from the Bible only tells me one thing, that it's no good for man to be alone.

As wives, we are here to help our husbands, we are a gift from God to them. Words can encourage them, acts of kindness support them, and your personalities work together to create a perfect team. Without you, he is incomplete.

Normally, when two very imperfect people come together there is going to be struggles, as two lives are meshed into one you will see conflict and problems you never had before will start to arise. But this blending of two people creates the beauty of a marriage bond. You come together and complete each other. You are a team, designed by God, as one flesh.

So what does it really mean to be "united as one"? Are you struggling against being one flash or are you working towards it?

I know I'm working towards it... once I got married I started to change. It took some time to get used to the way that things are supposed to work in a marriage but things are finally moving to the right direction. I support him and he supports me. We talk about EVERYTHING no matter how big or how little of a decision it is. I really want him to know that I am here for him, no matter how hard life gets. We have some financial issues right now, just bills are getting paid and there is food on the table, but we don't have extra money to even go on a date now and then and sometimes that sucks. We don't get anytime just the two of us anymore, and sometimes that's all I want is a few hours to spend with him, not worrying about what we are spending, and about what bills are getting paid late this month.

"A single man has not nearly the value he would in the state of union.
He is an incomplete animal. He resembles the odd half of a pair of scissors."
- Benjamin Franklin
