Time Riders by Alex Scarrow
Scarrow has been a rock guitarist, a graphic artist, and a computer games designer. He is the author of several adult thrillers, including Last Light and A Thousand Suns. The TimeRiders series is his first for young adults. He lives in England with his wife and son.
I picked up this book from the Young Adult shelf at the local book store... it looked interesting. As soon as I read the inside cover, I knew it sounded interesting enough for me to give it a shot. Not to mention the author sounds like a pretty cool guy!
The book is about these teens that should have died... but they are given a second chance at life to work for this secret agency. Their job is to stop others from time traveling and changing the future too much. In the first book, they have to go back to 1941 and stop this man who traveled back in time to take Hilter's place and change the current world.
It's an interesting plot and I look forward to reading more. This book is #1 in what is supposed to be a series of 9 books total. Book #2 comes out in October - I plan on picking it up as soon as it comes out! (:
Hi Megan, just a quick thank you for reviewing TimeRiders. It hasn't sold particularly well in the states, which is a shame because thats the country i hoped would get the most out of it! So...it's really helpful when the book gets this kind of word-of-mouth support.
