Bang, Bang! Heidi Pratt Submits Audition Tape For 'Transformers 3'

In a shocking turn of events, there might actually be a lucid reason that Heidi Pratt's been preparing herself for combat. "The Hills" star was so serious about replacing Megan Fox in "Transformers 3," that she actually made an audition tape!

Check out the video below, where she shoots targets at American Defense Enterprises. Heidi utilized social media to try and get the audition footage into the hands of Michael Bay, except, she totes sent it to the wrong guy. Bay's reportedly not even on Twitter. Sigh.

'One Tree Hill': Creator Mark Schwahn on Season 7's cliffhangers, the last minute renewal and a 'Life Unexpected' rivalry

Last Tuesday (May 18), a day after the seventh season finale of "One Tree Hill" aired, The CW announced that the series will be back this fall for an eighth year.

Though the show's cast and crew had the luxury of being renewed early over the last couple seasons, that was not the case this time around.

According to show creator Mark Schwahn, the decision really did come down to the last possible second and, though Monday's (May 17) finale included some pretty serious cliffhangers, the producers truly didn't know if they would have the opportunity to tie them up.

Schwahn, who says he and his cast and crew couldn't be more giddy and energized about getting that chance, was kind enough to tell Korbi TV the true story of how the 11th hour renewal actually went down...

When Clay and Quinn were shot just seconds before the finale faded to black, we figured you knew for sure that the show was getting another season. Is that not true?
MS: It's such a good question and, you know, I haven't talked to anyone about this -- I don't think I've even done an interview since [last fall] when you and I talked -- but no, I saw some speculation online about [the show's fate], but I knew five minutes before you guys posted it.

You're kidding.

MS: I talked to [CW president] Dawn Ostroff [who gave me the good news] and five minutes later, my phone started blowing up, and I thought, where is this coming from? So I hopped online and saw that [Zap2it] had [written] something and a couple other websites had [as well]. I always expected to find out Tuesday and, yeah, I found out Tuesday morning at like 10:30.

Wow. So, you really didn't know that the show was renewed when you decided to do the cliffhangers. Did you even have a different version of the finale, minus the gunshots, that you could've run had you been canceled?
MS: Yeah, the truth of the matter is, I just gambled. I had two endings. Obviously, when I was writing it, and then when I was directing it a month after that, we didn't know. And everyone was up front about that. Dawn was up front. [Warner Bros. president] Peter Roth was up front. Everybody just said, look, we don't know, so go with God, do what you're going to do. So I wrote the cliffhangers, but I constructed it -- and I think it's pretty simple to see -- so that there was a way out [had we gotten canceled].

We actually have a cut [of the episode] where, as they're coming down the hill during the sledding sequence, we angled on a couple -- I think Chase and Alex were first -- and we went to the Chase and Alex scene, without Mia's text to him. And then we went back to the hill and we saw the next couple coming down, which was Clay and Quinn, and we went to their scene on the couch, but once she said "I love you" and went to bed, we got out. And we went back to the hill and we showed Nathan and Haley and Jamie and we did their "I'm pregnant" scene and then we finished with Brooke and Julian and Brooke says "you get the sense that everyone's going to live happily ever after" and Julian says "they are" and then we went back to Jamie saying it's a long way up the hill and Haley says "nah, it's just a hill, come on, we'll climb it together" and we drift up in the sky and that would've been the end of the series.

So, I constructed that. We built it, we mixed it, we locked it. And the network said, look, you've got to make the call. Obviously, the show is going to air before we can tell you [if you're getting another season], so what do you want to do? And about a week beforehand was our deadline for deciding which cut was going to air. I talked to [executive producer] Joe Davola and I talked to Peter Roth and a couple people at the network and, though they couldn't tell me anything, I sort of gauged what I thought our chances were and I felt like we'd come back, so I said, let's go with the cliffhangers. My plan B was that I would've campaigned aggressively, had we not been picked up, for a movie. I think that we have a fanbase that's similar to what "Sex and the City" has, not in size, but in loyalty, so I would've tried to do a movie in a couple years to tie up loose ends.

So it was a gamble, but I'm glad it worked, and to the fans that feel like I might've played chicken with it, you know, we've gambled a lot in seven years. And our instincts have been good to us. And our ratings in the core demos that The CW cares about are as good or better than almost every returning show that they'd picked up. And they were certainly better than any show that hadn't been picked up, so I just felt like that would win out. You know, it didn't have to. If the network had a great development season, they're going to fall in love with their new stuff and they should. But I sort of weighed all those odds and I knew what pilots were out there and I felt like we were making a great case for ourselves. And we got lucky and guessed right.

Yes, you did. And you are moving from Monday to Tuesday nights.

MS: Yeah, I have never worried about that stuff. I mean, they've moved our show five times in eight years. And I always tell them, you know, it's your network and we'll just make the best show that we can and smarter people than me will decide where it's supposed to go. I love being [paired] with ["Life Unexpected" creator] Liz [Tigelaar]. You know, that's another thing that hasn't been said publicly. (Laughs) Our show has been involved in a lot of supposed throwdowns with other shows over the years and it's pretty funny because it doesn't ever really work like that, but it's good drama for fans of drama. But I actually sat in front of Dawn during development season when I had a couple pilots [in the works] and I told her, you should leave Liz alone and let her do her thing, she's a good writer and "Life Unexpected" could be someone's favorite show. There was a moment when I was like, oh, crap, I campaigned for Liz and we might lose our spot [to her]! But I've known Liz over the years. I tried to get her on staff at "One Tree Hill" countless times and I'm really proud of the stuff she's doing. I love our night, I love being with ["Life Unexpected"]. I really feel like the shows are totally similar. You know, we're a little louder than they are in terms of psychos and stuff, but I think it's a great fit. I'm happy to be there and now I can watch Monday Night Football and not miss my show.

No doubt. And your diehard fans don't have to wonder what would've been had you been unceremoniously yanked.

MS: You know, this season is sort of a gift, I think, from a network that understands that people have invested seven years in this show -- They knew we were going with cliffhangers for the finale -- and I think that that bodes well for them when they ask their audience to invest in their other shows. Because it's a great message to send and it's really smart business. And that was part of my pitch. You've got viewers that have been watching ["OTH"] for a really long time and to leave on cliffhangers is tough. But they got it, they acknowledged that this is a fanbase that has been dedicated and loyal and, you know, the network gets beaten up for choices it makes sometimes. Well, this is a choice they need to be applauded for.

New CW Show - Staring Aly Michalka & Ashley Tisdale

HELLCATS is a coming-of-age story about Marti Perkins, a young, pre-law student at Lancer University in Memphis, Tennessee. Marti is cool, hip and alt, but her world flips upside down, literally and figuratively, when she loses her scholarship, and realizes the only way she can stay in school is by reigniting her dormant teen gymnastic skills to win a place on Lancer’s legendary cheerleading team, The Hellcats. Against her every instinct, Marti goes for it and makes the squad, and is thrust into a world of camaraderie, backstabbing and the intersection of sports, backroom academia and big money. Marti’s new roommate, Savannah Monroe, a petite, peppy Texan, is among the diverse cast of athletes, undergrads, family and friends, all set on the sprawling campus of a powerhouse college football program in the deep South. The series stars Aly Michalka as Marti Perkins, Ashley Tisdale as Savannah Monroe, Heather Hemmens as Alice Verdura, Robbie Jones as Lewis Flynn, Matt Barr as Dan Patch, with Sharon Leal as Vanessa Lodge and Gail O’Grady as Wanda Perkins. HELLCATS is from Bonanza Productions Inc. in association with Tom Welling Productions, Warner Bros. Television and CBS Television Studios with executive producers Kevin Murphy (“Desperate Housewives”), Tom Welling (SMALLVILE) and Allan Arkush (“Heroes,” “Crossing Jordan”). The pilot was directed by Allan Arkush.

EW.com: OMG! The CW spoils new seasons of ‘Gossip Girl,’ ‘Vamp Diaries,’ Smallville,’ and more!

Buried in the CW’s official fall schedule press release were some massive spoilers about the new seasons of Gossip Girl, One Tree Hill, The Vampire Diaries, Smallville, and Supernatural. Read at your own freakin’ risk!

GOSSIP GIRL: Season four will open with a radiant Serena and Blair enjoying their grand and romantic summer in Paris…until Chuck mysteriously arrives in town with a new girlfriend and a new identity. Blair swore off Chuck forever but will this changed man woo Blair into having a change of heart, or will Queen B set her sights on ruling Columbia University? And as for that baby…?

ONE TREE HILL: Season eight will explore the delicate balance that contemporary twenty-somethings face as they endeavor to build and define what their lives will be, while overcoming difficulties and embracing the good things that they sometimes take for granted, shrouded in the pursuit of someday. It will be a celebration of the most important things, among them the quest for love, laughter, health, friends, career and family: timeless pursuits that have always mattered, and matter now, in a place called Tree Hill.

THE VAMPIRE DIARIES: Next season, the appearance of the villainous Katherine in Mystic Falls throws a wrench into the love triangle between Stefan, Elena and Damon, and the other residents of Mystic Falls must choose sides as they fall victim to a new breed of danger. New and unexpected friendships will be forged, allies will become enemies, and hearts will be broken. Stefan and Damon will be forced to face a villain more evil and diabolical than they ever believed possible. And they’ll take their shirts off. Frequently.

SMALLVILLE: Season ten promises the classic reuniting of the timeless romance between Clark and Lois, and brings Clark face-to-face with his destiny as he overcomes his final trials and forges the iconic identity that will be known for all time. (FYI: Cassidy Freeman (Tess) is included in a list of returning series regulars. Hmm…)

SUPERNATURAL: Season six will be a season of mystery and shadow. Heaven and Hell have been left in complete disarray since the apocalyptic events of season five. And now, monsters, angels and demons roam across a lawless and chaotic landscape. And so Dean Winchester, who has retired from hunting and sworn never to return, finds himself being pulled back into his old life – pulled back by none other than Sam Winchester, who has escaped from Hell. The two reunite to beat back the rising tide of creatures and demon-spawn, but they quickly realize that neither are who they used to be, their relationship isn’t what it used to be, and that nothing is what it seems.

90210: The third season welcomes the West Beverly kids to their senior year of high school. It’s the time of college acceptances and lovers’ rejections, the time of prom dates and promises betrayed, the time of spring break, break-ups and make-ups – but as is always the case in Beverly Hills, it all happens in a world of sun and fun, palm trees and warm sea breezes, success and excess. From the very beginning of the school year, the lives of the West Beverly group will be shaken up in a way none of them could ever imagine. And from this new starting point, their journeys will take them to staggering new heights and terrifying new depths. We’ll see the rise of a pop sensation and the fall of a group of friends, the beginning of a new love and the end of a professional dream, the creation of an unlikely family and the demise of another. And that’s just the first week of school… It’s now or never for the students of West Beverly, and they’re not going to waste a moment of time. Expectations are high, hormones are raging, and scandals are hiding around every corner. From the brightest moments of love and happiness to the darkest hours of shame and fear, senior year at West Beverly promises to be an unforgettable journey.

OTH Season Seven Finale Reactions...

OMG! Please do not read on if you don't want to hear any spoilers...

Brooke & Julian Engaged! YAY!

Quote from the show:
Julian: It’s pretty magical, isn’t it?

Brooke: It’s beautiful. This whole trip has been perfect.

Julian: Well, I had a little help. Last night at the bar Jamie gave me a gold star. Want to see it? (hands over an engagement ring) wait, that’s not it, that’s the engagement ring I bought for you…Hey. Everyone says the next thing I do, the next choice I make, is going to define me. My career. My life. Well the next thing I want to do is ask you to be my wife. And tell you how much I love you. And how nothing else matters. I look into your eyes, Brooke, and I see the rest of my life. And I see it with you. Marry me, Brooke Davis.

Also, Congrats to the Scott family... a baby girl!! YAY!!!

Moving on.... It was great to see the whole crew together in one place! It was like high school all over again, but better! I was glad to see everyone rally around Haley and Julian in these times of need. It was a heart-warming episode.

I was glad to see Mouth and Skills together again and I'm kind of excited to see where the Alex (Alice) and Chase storyline goes...now that Mia thinks she made a mistake! :) I think this triangle could get really interesting! (The new Peyton/Brooke/Lucas)??

I can't say that seeing Quinn & Clay get shot didn't surprise me, I was kind of mad because now I have to wait until Fall to see what happens... but I didn't cry. They are not my favorite couple on the show... but I don't want to see Haley get depressed again over losing her sister! Please don't kill her off!! I was only a little peeved, but the happiness of Brulian and Naley made it easier to deal with! :)

Personal opinion time... I would like to see Season 8 take a time jump of at least a year. I want to see Haley & Nate with a baby girl, and Brooke & Julian's wedding. I want to see what happened to Quinn and Clay, but aside from all that I'm glad we are pretty certain that we are getting another season. Even if it only ends up being 12 episodes! I'm okay with that!

Summit Says "Why Not," Reaches for the Stars With 'Breaking Dawn' Director Picks

No question, the Twilight Saga movie series has taken a big, bloody bite out of the box office. And for Breaking Dawn, the final installment (or is that installments?) of the series, Summit Entertainment appears to be aiming for critical acclaim as well.

The hunt is currently on for a director to handle helming duties for Breaking Dawn, and according to EW.com, Summit is going big with its list of candidates. How big? Oscars big. The heavy hitters being approached about the project include such Oscars nominees and winners as Milk director Gus Van Sant (a favorite candidate of series star Robert Pattinson), Lost in Translation director Sofia Coppola and Dreamgirls helmsman Bill Condon.

Why not throw Steven Spielberg into the mix while you're at it, Summit?

The pool of directorial candidates was recently reduced by one when Chris Weitz, who handled directing duties for Twilight sequel New Moon, announced that he wouldn't be pursuing the Breaking Dawn directing gig.

Dreamgirls Director to Take a Bite Out of Twilight

After months of speculation and rumor, Bill Condon will take the helm as director of the much-anticipated Breaking Dawn, the fourth and final chapter of the Twilight saga.

Summit Entertainment officially announced the deal Wednesday, ending several months of rumored names, which included heavy hitters Gus Van Sant and Sofia Coppola, MTV reports.

"I'm very excited to get the chance to bring the climax of this saga to life onscreen," the Oscar-nominated Condon said in a statement. "As fans of the series know, this is a one-of-a-kind book – and we're hoping to create an equally unique cinematic experience."

Series author Stephenie Meyer expressed similar enthusiasm over the selection of the Dreamgirls filmmaker, who also wrote and directed 2004's Kinsey and penned the screenplay for the hit musical Chicago. "I'm so thrilled that Bill wants to work with us," she said in a statement. "I think he's going to be a great fit, and I'm excited to see what he does with the material."

No word, however, on whether Breaking Dawn, the last chapter in the love story between Robert Pattinson's bloodsucking Edward and mortal Bella, played by Kristen Stewart, will be split into two films – which it's widely expected to do, according to Variety.

Former Sgt. Daniel Jens, a native of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, was attracted to becoming a musician/singer after seeing Elvis and The Beatles perform and hearing the adoring screams of their female fans. He was inspired to join the Army and serve his country after the events of 9/11. In October of 2007 he deployed to Iraq with the 1st Cavalry Division as a crew member of the Field Artillery Cannon. Jens sang at everything from Prayer Breakfasts to Talent Nights at the U.S. Embassy. Upon his return, Daniel went on to become one of the top twenty acts in season three of America’s Got Talent.

Former Cpt. Meredith Melcher spent four years in the Army as an officer in the Medical Service Corps where she was deployed in support of the first Operation Iraqi Freedom. While on the front lines of Iraq her ambulance platoon successfully evacuated hundreds of injured Americans and Iraqis to higher levels of medical treatment. Upon her return, she was cast in the 2004 U.S. Army Soldier Show and performed for audiences of military personnel and civilians worldwide.

Staff Sgt. (Ret.) Ron Henry retired from the Army after a twenty-year military career; his last seven years were spent traveling unprotected roads in Iraq in the dangerous position of Transporter and Transportation Manager. Influenced by Gospel music, Ron delivered stellar performances in the first season of Military Idol, a show that featured military contestants in the popular American Idol format. He went on to lead the successful Army singing group “Transportation Express,” lifting the morale of those families whose military parents were serving multiple deployments back to back.

Former Sgt. David Clemo – who was in Basic Training, getting his first ID on 9/11 – initially deployed to Afghanistan where he provided communications support for major logistics and fire bases. His second deployment, from November 2004, was as a team chief for communications and fiber optic cable installations in Iraq. Following that, David spent a number of fulfilling years as Assistant Director of the U.S. Army Soldier Show, touring and entertaining his fellow soldiers and their families.

Either way, we met up with them and other friends at the game, had a good time talking, laughing and snacking on yummy stadium snacks!! (I had forgotten how much money you have to spend on food at Turner Field!) Anyways, we had a great time with everyone on the hot, sun-filled Sunday... where the Braves won against the Arizona Diamondbacks 13-1!! :)

Miley Cyrus is allowed to grow up, even if it's uncomfortable for the rest of us

Let me start by saying I’m no Miley Cyrus fan. I am not a tween girl who has ensured her rank as #29 on the Forbes Celebrity 100 List, nor have I bought a single one of the more than 4 million albums she’s sold. That $86 million she’s raked in through the world box office? Not a cent of it was mine. In fact, her self-satisfied brand of music/ acting gives me such a flashback to my middle school nemesis that I’d rather cut my own head off and throw it out a window than have to endure an entire episode of “Hannah Montana.” That said, I am genuinely uneasy about the public lashing she’s been getting this week. Do we really have the right to be this angry about the burgeoning sexuality of a 17-year-old?

Fans (well, parents of fans) would say yes, and to an extent, they are right. The logic is pretty simple: If you’ve made your millions by being the Disney-endorsed idol of young girls everywhere, you’ve got to be pretty careful about how you expose your fan base to the fact that you are becoming—physically, mentally, and sexually—a woman.

So far, Miley’s ascent into womanhood seems anything but careful. Between performing on a stripper-esque pole for the Teen Choice Awards and having her phone hacked to release numerous half-clad self-portraits, tween fans have gotten an eyeful of her awkward stage. Last week, when the release of the video for her single “Can’t Be Tamed” went kookily overboard to prove its lyrics (watch it below), the media took issue with everything from the price of the corset she wore in it to the fact that she wore one at all. Again, the logic is simple: If all the young girls who want to be just like Hannah Montana start flapping their feather-n-leather crotches, well, we’ve got problems.

Less simple? This week’s so-called “lap dance scandal,” in which a then 16-year-old Miley can be seen giving a “graphic a lap dance” to a 44-year-old man at last summer’s wrap party for “The Last Song.” Sound questionable? That’s what TMZ, which leaked the video, is counting on. Their clip (seen here) makes it even more so, featuring a bump-n-grind so slowed down and tightly shot that it’s impossible to see it as anything but a clothed sex act. The facts—that Adam Shankman wasn’t some random pervert, but an openly gay producer on “The Last Song” and friend of Miley’s—have all been forgotten in the rush call a 17-year-old a w----.

And this is the part where I throw my hands up a little with the nuttiness of it all. Really, America? We’re going to berate Miley Cyrus over a little dirty dancing done in her private life? Because while I understand the complications inherent in a tween idol sexing it up in a made-for-mass-consumption video, I just can’t see how her dancing sexily at a private party, in which she had no idea she was bring taped, is any of our business.

Here’s the deal, for all those who have forgotten how this thing called “growing up” works: Miley Cyrus is a girl who is becoming a woman. She’s brimming with a lot of the stuff the rest of us had as teenagers—loaded sexuality, unsteady boundaries and limited common sense. While her tween idol status keeps her on the hook as far as her public persona goes, in private, she’s going to goof up a lot. She’s going to do what other teenagers do—getting a little too down on the dance floor, and taking endless photos of her half-dressed self as she tries to get a handle on her own sexuality. In other words, she’s going to take a lot of steps that make us uncomfortable. And you know what? It’s her right to do so.

Our right, as consumers, is to stop buying what she’s selling if we don’t like it. We can talk to our daughters about what they see and even what we wish they didn’t see. We can do everything in our power to make their own ascent into womanhood a little less fraught. But calling a teenage girl a w---- for dancing? That’s just ugly and wrong-headed at best. I don’t care how many fingers are trying to tap Miley as the next Lindsay/ Britney disaster, the minute we start judging a teenager in her private trajectory from girlhood to womanhood, we’re the ones with a problem.

Ausiello Files Breaking News: The CW Looks to Give OTH 12 Ep Pick-Up

Warning: The below info is purely speculative and should by no means be taken as gospel. We’re heading into upfront week people, and rumors are flying fast and furious. Here’s what some of the loudest chatter is centered on…

The CW is said to be strongly considering renewing both One Tree Hill and Life Unexpected for 12 episodes apiece. Among new shows, the Nikita reboot is a lock, Scott Porter’s Nomads is flirting with a possible midseason order, and ASP’s The Wyoming Project is… generating absolutely no buzz.

Book Recommendation: The Wereling

The Wereling by Steve Feasey

Summary: Fourteen-year-old Trey Laporte is not a kid anymore. Not after the day he wakes up in agony—retina-splitting, vomit-inducing agony. His clothes are torn. His room is trashed.

Enter Lucien Charron, the mysterious, long-lost “uncle” with freakish fire-flecked eyes and skin that blisters in the sun. Suddenly, Trey finds himself living in a luxury penthouse at the heart of a strange and sinister empire built on the powers of the Netherworld—vampires, demons, sorcerers, and djinn.

And there is a girl—Alexa Charron—who is half vampire, half human, and insanely pretty, with powers all of her own. Trey is falling for her.

Trey is training night and day to control the newly discovered power lurking inside him. Now, demons are closing in on every side, and the most psychopathic bloodsucker to rock the Netherworld wants to destroy him. Above all, he must face one terrifying question:

Is he a boy . . . or is he a beast?

Comments: I'm not really a fan of always reading a teen boy's POV... and I never search for it. Surprisingly, this book kept my attention. This book reminded me that trying something different often ends up being a great idea! There is a great cast of characters, my favorite was Lucien. Not knowing if his intentions were good or bad... or how dark his past really is kept me intrigued. Not to mention I wanted to know if and when things would develop with Trey & Alexa beyond a friendship - this book was not a romance... but I sure wanted to see if it would turn into love! I can't wait to see this book turn itself into a series - I still have so many questions that were not answered by the end of the book! It was addictive!

Movie Review!

Sliding Doors: Last night I went over to Marlena's house to watch a movie. We dug through her book of DVD's and we picked this movie out. Gweneth Paltrow was amazing! Basically the movie is about choices and fate... the character of Helen has to make the train, in one version she does and then it shows an alternate reality of where she doesn't catch it and how her life was so different. I won't give much more away, but I would recommend it to anyone that likes movies that portray the way things can happen in life when one thing happens to change it all. :)

Movie Review!

Ironman 2: Was AWESOME! :) I'm already a huge Robert Downey Jr fan, but this movie was just as good as the first one! I loved it so much! I recommend it to anyone that loves super hero or action movies! Make sure to stay after the credits!

I think Scarlett Johanssen's part was awesome, she did a lot better on this movie that in most that I have seen her. She didn't disappoint. The effects were good, the rest of the characters were played well. I'm still a Pepper fan - and now a Whiplash fan as well! :)
