Is two really better than one?

As I lay here feeling this baby boy kicking at my laptop that is currently resting on my stomach - I started to think about all the things in my life that are going to change or at least be drastically different come late August.

Don't get me wrong and don't read too much into the post title - I just wanted to share some thoughts and this is the best way. (:

Ryan has overall been a pretty easy kid to raise. He was, from the start, easy-going, laid back, easy to soothe and loved people (even strangers). He fell asleep easily, and he's always been very secure about himself and his surroundings. We never really had to deal with any separation anxiety. Now at almost two years old, he is more affectionate and more outgoing. He also has less regard for authority and tests his boundaries daily. He also has an inability to sleep past 7am most mornings.

I'm so curious to see how this new baby will turn out - if he will be anything like his older brother and make things easy on me... or is he going to be my holy terror?! I'm not really worried about it per say, but I know that typically the second child is almost complete opposite from the first - or at least in most cases drastically different.

I'm really praying that this isn't the case for us! I know I have a lot of patience, but I haven't had to really test my limits with Ryan. I don't know how things will turn out after the new baby gets here!

Any and all advice welcome, of course!

It's.... ANOTHER BOY!

Because I didn't do a gender reveal party for Ryan like I wanted to, I thought that this new addition in our lives deserved a night to be celebrated. So, I planned it the same evening as my anatomy ultra-sound and it was a fun night of food, fellowship, and finding out if Ryan was going to have a brother or a sister! (:

Here are some photos from the party, most of which taken thanks to my friend, Marlena Bell. ( I was not attached to my camera that night like I should have been! )

Nana, Pop, and Aunt Summer cutting into the cake!

You can almost see the blue icing in the middle! (:

It's a BOY!

My Parents.
My sisters.

Marlena and I.
